Good Morning ~ Come on over for a cup of coffee! The Edisto Beach State Park cabins are wonderful, especially the large screened porch overlooking the marsh lands of the island.
Day Two started and ended with walking a couple of the state park trails and being completely mesmerized by the beauty of the Southern Live Oaks and Bald Cypress trees of this area.
The long strands of Spanish Moss blows in the wind like tangled hair and hangs from high within the branches.
Sometimes even giving a eerie spooky feeling and you explore the island trails.
What a very different mushroom....it really looked like part of the tree!
Another somewhat famous area of the Island is the Spanish Mount. It is recorded that some 4,000 years ago this 20 foot mound of oyster shells covered over 1/2 an acre. Many stories of mystery and speculation remain today as now less than 1/10 of the area remains due to erosion and coastal washing.
I find myself back on the porch at the end of the day as the clouds gather and the thunder rumbles, enjoying the sights and the sounds of the beautiful nature God has created.
