Another Chance

September 18, 2012  •  3 Comments

My morning walk at my absolute favorite place to be, the beach on Hilton Head Island.

There are songs of worship popping in my head....'Count Your Blessings'.... 'On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand'.... 'Blessed Assurance'.  I continue my walk in peace and silence, enjoying the warm morning sunshine and continuing to be thankful for the blessings of my life.

I came across a large starfish turned upside down and caught in the sand as the tide had left him stranded.  His 'legs' were wiggling as he struggled.

With a funny sadness, I watched knowing there was nothing he could do to save himself.  Isn't that like us?  Without God, we are nothing!  I carefully picked him up and returned him to the ocean for another chance, thinking how blessed I am that God continues to give me another day and another chance.

There were a few more stranded starfish on my walk today....some were perfect others deformed from the events of their lives.

Each one I carefully returned to the sea hoping to give them another chance.

Thank you Heavenly Father, for your unconditional love each and every day.

How perfect. You are so blessed to be able to capture Gods masterpieces and write about them so eloquently.

Pam what a wonderful way to use the starfish as examples of life. I feel like it really applied to me because like the starfish caught outside of his element I too am caught because my legs don;'t work so well. Like the starfish, some deformed and sme caught too long in the sand, they needed help just like I do. Without the help of marvelous inventions that the Lord God put in the minds of people, I would be so confined to my house. Then there are those marvelous ladies I love so dearly who at a call or email from me are more than happy and willing to help me back to what is my ocean of life---spending time with the gals.
