It’s not every day that you get to watch really close, as your best friend becomes a grandmother. Looking back, this special friend really wasn’t ready to begin playing that role. Grandmothers were ‘old people’ and she was not old. Grandmothers wore old clothes and carried a handkerchief and this friend still looked and dressed like a beauty queen. But then in late July, 2007, little Miss Ansley entered our world and turned my friends life totally upside down. Her heart was about to bust (like the rest of us grandmothers) and her love for this child began to blossom.
Fast forward five years, (and believe me, they were a fast five years)…and Miss Ansley has grown into her own special personality.
When I began our photo session Ansley promptly turned to me with much determination and said “I can pose myself.”
How’s that for independence? Maybe a future model?
While playing makes her happy and spankings make her sad, she is full of life and is a constant ball of energy.
Today Ansley’s favorite book is The Sunshine Book and her favorite song is You Are My Sunshine.
With those cute little freckles gently splashed across her nose, her personality shines brightly to those she meets.
Ansley loves to play dress up and change costumes a lot.
Her favorite is her princess dresses and of course she has to be barefoot.
Don’t your agree she IS a Princess?
And as far as Daddy and Papa goes, all it takes is a roll of those big blue eyes and they are wrapped all around her finger.
My friend still isn’t ‘Grandma’ but is fondly called “CiCi”, such a special name given to her by this amazing little sweetheart.
And when she sees her CiCi she runs as fast as she can, screaming “CiCi, CiCi, I missed you so much” as she jumps into her arms!
And CiCi will always be there with open arms ~
